Giant physical entertainment distributor Arvato has made the decision to close its site in Milton Keynes and exit the UK music business by spring this year.
A spokesperson for the company said the decision came following a strategic review of the distributor’s UK supply chain management business.
The decision won’t effect the firm’s international music partnerships and and non-music clients will be transferred to other Arvato sites.
The news comes after PIAS announced a move to Cinram from Arvato for its UK and Ireland distribution earlier this week.
The indie isn’t the only one to have waved goodbye to Arvato, however. Universal announced that it would take its picking, packing and shipping to Sony DADC in June last year, with that move taking effect at the start of this year.
Sony and Warner are also reported to have left the distributor.
