Michael Gira has lined up a solo show at the Barbican with guest appearances from Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore and fiddle improviser Laura Cannell.

He’ll be playing stripped-versions of his own songs and Swans and Angels of Light material, with Moore bringing his 12-string acoustic guitar to play his own solo work while Cannell adds string loops.

The gig takes place on March 30 as part of Art Assembly’s Saisonscape: New Life series investigating the seasons through experimental music and sonic art, and tickets are available from the Barbican now.

Last year Gira has announced the final Swans album and tour for the current iteration of the band, saying he was “not really sure what the next step will be after that, but that’s perhaps a good thing.”
