Narco was formed in 1996 in the Macarena district of Seville. The group is now called Narco and were formerly known as Lumpen. After their first single entitled “Narco” and a tour with Def Con Dos, they recorded their first album, “Satan Lives” (Bruto/Dro/Warner), with which they began to give many concerts throughout Spain. The album includes 11 tracks, equally explicit as wild, full of authenticity and rawness that moves us to the peculiar universe that the group has managed to create around his name and those of its members: Chato Chungo (vocals), Viking M.D. (vocals), DJ Muerte, Amnésico (bass) and Manipulador (drums).

Produced by Jesús Arispont (bassist and producer of Def Con Dos), recorded and mixed at Box studio (Madrid) and mastered in Metropolis (London) by Ian Cooper, “Satan Lives” surprised by the quality and strength of their sound, with a peculiar style which hints at the most disparate influences in the first work of the band.

Aggressive and without mincing words, in April 1999 they recorded a new album, “Talego Pon Pon”, recorded in Box, mixing Red Led (Madrid) and mastered again by Ian Cooper at Metropolis, which placed Narco in privileged ground. After several years on the road, the Andalusians eventually get placed in the premiere league of national rock. Still faithful to the direction of sound created on the first album, the new album showed a greater professionalism and several methods that enabled them to bring new nuances to his particular vision of thrash and hip hop. When combining ingredients, the figure of Jesús Arispont (Def Leppard, Freak XXI) reappears, with who they work with because “he has come to know our ideas and compliments as one more member of the group” in the words of group.

A tour with certain success gave them the necessary confidence and benefits to edit the third album of their career, “Chaparrón De Plomo”. The album includes more electronics, more samples, more scratches and, of course, not forgetting the distortion and drive of their riffs. Their lyrics continue to talk about psychotropic experiences, nights of chaos, the drug trade, the rejection of authority, religious hypocrisy or macabre crime stories. At the helm of this production, again is Jesús Arispont, again recorded in Box, mixed in Sincroní-a (Madrid) and mastered in Sonoland (Madrid).

Two years later, the group decides to release a DVD of their concert at the Sala Caracol in Madrid in February 2001. In 2003, they edited “Registro De Penados Y Rebeldes”, in which Chato Chungo is no longer in the line-up, leaving Viking M.D. to handle the vocals. More rock and more electronica make this album a must from them. It was recorded at the Sound Farm (Dos Hermanas, Sevilla), mixed at Q-Studios (Madrid) and mastered by Jesús Arispont in Masterispont (Madrid). The album brought some controversy, because the CD included an interactive track with the video game Matanza Cofrade. The chapels of Seville took legal action against the group because the video game apparently violated freedom of conscience and religious feelings. Following the court action against the brothers, 5000 albums were removed from the market by the Registro De Penados Y Rebeldes and the Guardia Civil (police) closed their website. All group members reported to the Guardia Civil, but all were also acquitted, except the programmer who had designed the game. He asked them please not renew the issue because it could end up in jail. This greatly affected the group. They were always on the ball bearing up to criticism from those who do not like the attitude of Narco, the lyrics or the music. But never could they imagine that a group of Catholic fundamentalists claimed legal protection against things that they simply do not like.

One year later, after the controversy already mentioned, the group decides to separate and Viking M.D. continues with his side project, named after him, and recorded an album, “Aquí estoy yo” (Here I am) in 2005. At concerts, Viking M.D. usually performed Narco tracks, such as “La cucharacha” (the cockroach) or Puta Policía to satisfy a demand from an audience crazy for these songs.

In 2008, in an interview with Viking M.D., he explained that Narco would reform again for a tour to begin in February of that year, edit a live album, a greatest hits, and a new album. This reunion was composed of all original components except Chato Chungo, who according to the group was behind bars and yet was the only one who was working to regroup them again, but obviously without singing. So his replacement was Distosión Morales, who also was a member of the core fusion band Falso Dogma, and has also edited several solo rap recordings, using his alter ego S Curro.

A new album, “Alijos Confiscados”, covered 1996 – 2008, a compilation that reviews all of the Andalusian band’s career. With the release of the album, they offered a series of concerts which were guaranteed to sell-out, and this helped them to return to start looking forward with enthusiasm and have the same energy as in 1996 when they began with “Satan Lives”. “We have not lost the touch, we are all colleagues and we are looking forward to returning to see people on stage,” said Viking M.D. The focus of “Alijos Confiscated 1996-2008” is the same as the first two albums, hardcore metal. The compilation, which served to support a new series of concerts, includes 19 tracks that provide an panoramic view of all these years and has three unreleased songs, some remastered versions and the rest taken directly from their other albums. The aim was to bring together the tracks most difficult to find, some cover versions (like the version of “A quién le importa”, by the mythical band Alaska, of their version of “Esta noche” (Tonight), by the famous Barricada) and the most loved tracks.

In late 2009, once released from their commitment to the multinational label Warner, Narco officially announced on their Myspace the new album, and last to date, released on January 25, 2010. The group confirmed it would be called “Alita de Mosca”, in honor of the famous drug with the same name, a cocaine purer than standard with a flaky texture (hence the metaphor with the wing of a fly). The album was released through Maldito Records with two versions: the standard which includes 13 songs and a special limited and numbered edition (presented with a strip of cardboard with a number ranging from 0001 to 2000) including a 16 page booklet, a poster in A3, a sticker and other items such as a bonus track named “Julio César Chaves”, a theme that breaks the negative trend that transpired the album to pay tribute to one of the best boxers in Mexico.

Almost simultaneously Distorsión Morales, under the pseudonym S Curro, published his 2nd solo LP, titled Distorsión (Mogra Records / Kasba Music, 2010). In 2012, he released a CD remix of his earlier work, “Alita de mosca”, which he decided to call “la rave del infierno” (the rave of hell). On January 15, 2013 they released their latest album to date, entitled “versiones para no dormir”, which contains covers of bands like the Dead Kennedys, Prodigy, Eskorbuto etc, and which features collaborations with artists such as Juan of S.A. and Finito de Badajoz from Reincidentes.
