One of the Irish Times top 3 Irish acts to see acts at Electric Picnic 2014 – the others being Sinead O’Connor and The Blades.

A six piece cosmic rock n’ roll band from Dublin, Buffalo Sunn were known as Sweet Jane until October 2013. On the Reekus Records label, the band are currently enjoying radio success in the US as well as at home, with their current single, “By Your Side” being the third most played song on the influential Sacramento station KKDO for almost two months.

Taken from their forthcoming album, “By the Ocean, by the Sea”, which will be released on the 10th of October in Ireland, the single “By Your Side” has been receiving stellar accolades as far afield as Asia and the US. The album is produced by Grammy winning Pat McCarthy, producer of no fewer than five R.E.M albums.

Buffalo Sunn’s music incorporates sounds from the 60’s right up to the present day mixing big reverb leaden harmonies with carefully placed guitars that take the listener on an epic journey through their songs. The band have built a reputation for being a formidable live act both at home and abroad. In May when they played five gigs at Music Matters in Singapore, “Buffalo Sunn endeared themselves to lovers of reverb-drenched country-folk coming across like a post-punk version of Crosby Stills & Nash, resplendent with their angelic harmonies“. – Today Online (Singapore).

After a slew of Irish shows in September, they play Hard Working Class Heroes in October 2014, some shows in New York in October, while the first few months next year see them touring both Germany and the US West Coast for the first time.
