Bio
In 2006, Scroobius Pip quit his job in HMV and had 1000 copies of his debut album “No Commercial Breaks” pressed, on his own “Speech Development Records” label.
In 2011, he released “Distraction Pieces”, which made it into the UK Top 40 album charts and was generally well received.
In 2012, Speech Development released their first signings with Jackamo Brown “Oh no! The Drift of the World” and polarbear “At Home with Polar”. This was followed in 2013 with a re-issue of Scroobius Pip’s debut album “No Commercial Breaks”, this time including a live spoken word CD and presented in special edition pop up book packaging.
In 2014, Speech Development have releases lined up from Sage Francis, warrenpeace & B Dolan.
